Den kretsar kring konstnären Hilma af Klints liv och hennes inte helt konfliktfria relation till antroposofins grundare Rudolf Steiner. Allt material kom inte till användning i den slutgiltiga versionen av operan. Det har nu tonsättaren valt att lyfta fram i sina fem Hilma Scenes. Den första scenen är ett lamento till Hilmas mor, den andra en musikalisk

gestaltning av Hilma af Klints ikoniska målning Altarbild, formad som en stor pyramid. Den tredje satsen, Seance, refererar till kreativa processer med inslag av eld och rökelse och den fjärde målar upp Hilmas framtidssyner om de båda världskrigen. Den femte och sista scenen är ett farväl till livet.

It revolves around the artist Hilma af Klint’s life and hers

not entirely conflict-free relationship with the founder of anthroposophy Rudolf Steiner.

Not all material was created use in the final version of the opera.

The composer has now chosen to highlight this his five Hilma Scenes.

The first scene is a lament to Hilma’s mother,

the second a musical design by Hilma af Klint’s iconic painting Altarpiece, shaped like a large pyramid.

The third movement, Seance, refers to creative processes with elements of fire and incense and it fourth paints Hilma’s visions of the two world wars. The fifth and final scene is a farewell to life.
